ShootMaster 6.0

Version 6.0 of the ShootMaster software features extensive new developments—innovations on which our developers work tirelessly to ensure we can consistently offer you new features and improvements. A central focus of development for this version was adapting the software to the 2026 ISSF rule changes, specifically incorporating the new final rules for 10m Mixed Team, 25m Rapid Fire Pistol, and 50m 3 Positions. Concurrently, the display programs within the Display Controller and Display Manager were overhauled to visualize these new finals in a more visually appealing manner, featuring medal icons and optimized table layouts.

To facilitate better training analysis, the evaluation module has been enhanced to include the option of displaying a performance curve as a line chart. Users of ESTA5 Mobile will also benefit from an improved display interface, which is now capable of rendering targets with background images as well as animal targets featuring the buffalo, elk, mouflon, and chamois.

Here is a summary of the most important new features:

Competition Control

  • The display of the firing point number has been adjusted for disciplines involving more than one competitor per firing point.
  • It is now possible to configure which information is displayed in the Firing Point Log.
  • Device errors (Hardware Log entries) are now also displayed in the Firing Point Log.

Result Lists

  • Adaptation to ISSF rule changes, including new Finals formats effective 2026.
  • Implemented a feature to visualize a competitor’s results over time as a line chart (performance curve).
  • Revised the export of rankings to CSV format. The data exported to the CSV file now depends on the selected evaluation mode.
  • Added the “RPO” (Ranking Points Only) footnote. Athletes marked with this footnote are excluded from consideration when determining Final participants.

Start Lists

  • Improved sorting of disciplines in the window for creating league and round competitions.
  • When exporting competitor lists in the “Meyton Text Format,” the competitor’s federation and nation are now also included in the export.

Control PC

  • The winner of a pairing in a league match is now highlighted in green.
  • The calculation of the result for the re-shot series following a recognized equipment malfunction in the ISSF 25m Rapid Fire Final has been corrected. Missing hits within a series are now consistently scored as -1.

ESTA Mobile

  • The disciplines in the discipline selection menu are now sorted by distance, name, and rule number.
  • The winner of a matchup in a league competition is now highlighted in green.
  • Support has been added for the new animal targets: “50m Buffalo”, “50m Moose” and “50m Mouflon.”
  • The area displaying the elapsed/remaining time has been optimized.

Control Center

  • A new “Internet” section is now available in the right-hand menu. There, a persistent internet connection can be enabled at system startup.

Shot Protocol

  • Resolved an issue that, under certain conditions, could result in log files not being fully read.

Display Controller/Display Manager

  • Adaptation of the display software for the ISSF Finals to the 2026 rule changes.
  • Places 1–3 are now highlighted in the table using gold, silver, and bronze colors, and medal icons are displayed.

Displaycontroller “CpcView”

  • The second and third stand areas can now once again be configured via the web interface.

Displaycontroller “Date/Time”

  • When the remaining time display is active, the date is no longer shown.

Displaycontroller “HTML-View”

  • When switching to a new page that does not fit entirely on the screen, a “switching delay” is now also observed before scrolling down begins, ensuring that the page header remains visible for a longer period.

Displaycontroller “LiveScore”

  • When automatic scrolling is enabled, the waiting time at the end of the page—before scrolling back to the top—can now be configured.

As usual, a complete list of all improvements and changes can be found in the release notes.

openSUSE Linux Notes

Installing ShootMaster Software 6.0 requires the openSUSE Leap 15.3, 15.4, 15.5, or 15.6 operating system. Older openSUSE versions (e.g., 12.1, 13.2, 42.2, and 15.2) are no longer supported! We recommend openSUSE 15.6. As openSUSE has implemented fundamental system changes, the new openSUSE Leap 16.0 is currently not yet supported!

Please download the ISO file for openSUSE 15.6 via the link below, not from the openSUSE website, as the versions offered there may not be compatible with ShootMaster.

If you are using an unsupported, older version of openSUSE, it is necessary to update the operating system. To do so, please use the guide for reinstalling openSUSE found in the “Documentation” section below. Before installing the new version of openSUSE, perform a database backup within the Meyton Control Center. Then, copy the backup to a USB flash drive. After installing the new version of openSUSE and the new ShootMaster software, you can restore the database backup from the USB drive. Instructions for this process can also be found in the “Documentation” section below.
