Notes openSUSE Linux

To install ShootMaster Software 5.3, the openSUSE Leap 15.2, 15.3, 15.4, 15.5 or 15.6 operating system is required. Older openSUSE versions (e.g. 12.1, 13.2, 42.2, 15.0 or 15.1) are no longer supported! We recommend using openSUSE 15.5.

If you want to use openSUSE 15.5 or 15.6, please download the ISO file for installing openSUSE via the link at the bottom and not from the openSUSE homepage. openSUSE now occasionally releases updated installation files that are not compatible with the ShootMaster software.

If you are using an unsupported old version of openSUSE, it is necessary to update the operating system. To do this, use the instructions for reinstalling openSUSE from the “Manuals” section below. Before installing the new openSUSE version, perform a database backup in the Meyton control center. Then copy the backup to a USB stick. After installing the new openSUSE version and the new ShootMaster software, you can restore the database backup from the USB stick. Instructions for this process can also be found in the “Manuals” section below.

Information about the new Control PC series

If you have devices from the latest series of our ESTA Control (Shuttle DL30N) or ESTA Pro (from serial number DK2024-0001), we ask you not to update these devices. Since this series was released after the release of ShootMaster Software 5.3, the new device is not correctly identified by the ShootMaster software.

Therefore, the device must not be updated with the Meyton software update program. An update of the device would result in the device no longer booting up correctly after the update.

From ShootMaster software version 5.3.1 (version 5.3 with patch 1) the new series is recognized correctly and can be updated safely. If you are using ShootMaster software with a version older than 5.3.1, we recommend that you update to version 5.3.1.
